Opera night.........interesting characters in the audience as well as on the stage.........

Dear all,

The snow is gone and nothing much has started to grow. It’s like a Friday night or Christmas Eve, only fat buds and anticipation of things to come.  On Sunday we ventured out to tackle the yard.  With (most) of the snow gone now, we had a chance of clearing the fall and winter debris.

There were branches, fallen over hydrangeas, trash and stickery blackberry canes. (What was I thinking planting them so close to the path?)  We walked with impunity over the not yet sprouted violets and jack in the pulpits, but got startled by the sight of bright red nubbins of rhubarb poking out of the ground from underneath dried leaves.  Whoops!

Soon we will be fighting our way through branches heavy with leaves and racing with mowers over the vigorously growing lawns to keep them in check, not mention the equally vigorously sprouting weeds.  But right now, we can create order that will stay in place for at least a week.

Patricia Reinhart will be on hand tonight to talk about her art show from 5-8 PM.  Stop in for a cup of coffee or a glass of wine and a peek at her beautiful work.  She’s using an interesting new process that I for one, am curious about.

On Thursday the Everett Smithson Band will be here with a little cajun blues.  On Friday it’s jazz with Gordy and Benny and on Saturday, it’s the Dillmans!  All regulars here at Three Crows representing a wide range of musical styles.  Check links below. Hmmm, what a week.  It’ll be hard to choose.

Opera night was once again a big night with characters to be found in the audience as well on stage as you can see from the photo above.  Opera Night Part Tre will take place on Saturday, June 7.  You can call to reserve tickets.  If you have verbally asked to be put on the reservation list, please call Three Crows as they will need information from you to reserve your tickets.  763-972-3399  These sell out fast so call early.  Tickets are $35 and include dinner.

The Three Dillmans

7:30 pm $15 cover

2006 inductees to the Minnesota Music Hall of Fame, The Daisy Dillman Band holds a well deserved place in Minnesota music history. With a small handful of others, they dominated the music scene in the late 70‘s - and more than most, they went on to play in the majors with two nationally released, charting records. Along the way, they earned a place in the hearts of loyal audiences across Minnesota and the entire country. They did it by bringing everything they had... to countless nights of unforgettable music.

Enjoy the week,

Gina, Al and Marcus the music guys
