Buzzy is not happy about this either.........

Dear all,

It’s snowing outside my window right now…..and Buzzyis as unhappy about being stuck inside as I am. Yes the river is going up.  So far the predictions are not indicating flood conditions, but they only take into account the next 24 hours of weather forecast when making their predictions so we’re starting to pray the rain finds its way AROUND our watershed pretty damn soon.

This is my yearly spiritual practice in powerlessness. Yes indeed there are forces way bigger than anything I can tackle- just in case I forget.  Long sigh……….. and May Day is coming on Thursday, trala trala….

With Spring comes energy and energy soon turns into activity around here-  and there is much to tell you about.  First of all, on Thursday, Patchouli will be here heralding Spring and the return of the snowbirds! Followed by Hurricane Harold and Jeff Ray (blues!) and on Friday, the Turpentine Wine Duo (eclectic).  See the links in the calendar below.

We have our May art show going up.  Our own Chantal Boon will be featured and it will be fun to find out what she’s been up to in her art studio since many of us have yet to lay eyes on her work.  Also this is your warning of last chance to see Patricia Reinert’s great work.

Marcus has been busy booking some GREAT music this month and here are some dates to get on your calendar.  Next week on Friday we have Chastity Brown in concert.  Some of you have seen her here or on Minnesota Originals or at the Dakota Jazz Club. Seen her or not you’ll want to catch her on May 9th.  Tickets are $20. The next night, Tim Mahoney will be here.  It’s a $15 ticket and you can call ahead. On Saturday May 17th (yes Syttende Mai for you astute Norwegians out there) will be our first Comedy Night featuring Tommy Thompson.  Tickets are $10.  Eva Walsh will be in concert on Friday May 23, $15 and she’ll only be doing one show here this year so call early!  You know what happened last time!

Looking forward to June, it’s true we are having Opera Night on Saturday June 7th, and it’s also true that we have sold all the seats this time in 2 days, but if you are interested, I encourage you to call to be put on the waiting list.  It’s so far in advance that there is always a lot of switching around the last few days before the concert and we always end up turning to our wait list.

We will again be hosting a Summer Solstice party on Saturday, June 21.  Since Carl was recently in Jamaica, the food of Jamaica seemed like a great extension of the Solstice fire theme.  Marcus is in charge of rounding up some reggae music for the occasion. $39 plus plus. You can make reservations for all these events by calling Three Crows at 763-972-3399 and see more details on our web calendar page coming soon if not already there.

7:30 pm  no cover

Lisa Rowland & Bronson Bergeson formed Turpentine Wine in 2013  Their broad music tastes led them to write original songs, not conforming to a certain genre, but each for itself.  Mixing in covers from artists such as Etta James, Kenny Loggins, Patty Loveless, Katy Perry and more.  Their approach to music will keep you guessing and singing along.

Enjoy the rain… and the week,

Gina, Al and Marcus the music guys
