wild violets

wild violets

Dear all,

Despite the weather, summer is coming.  Even though temperatures have been cold, the violets are blooming, the leaves are coming out.   The plants and birds find encouragement in the slightest increases of light, warmth and rain calling for more life!  It can not be helped.

Around Three Crows there is always this funny thing that happens with the staff.  In the winter and very early spring it seems like everyone is going to stay put and then with the end of April and beginning of May, all hell breaks loose and everybody decides to move onto the thing that has been incubating underground all winter.  A budding business, a career move, art… the growing season pulls us into the next chapter of our lives that’s ready to be born.

This week we have a fun little lineup of music.  Jim Kessler and Ashwin Asokan will be here on Thursday for a nice walk down memory lane with popular tunes we will all recognize.  Eva Walsh is here on Friday night.  Reservations are recommended as were sold out last time she was here and could be heading there once again. There will not be a “Date Night” dinner that night because of the concert.  Meat loaf  with mashed potatoes or polenta with marinara will be the dinner choices that night.  And on Saturday night, it will be Still Standing our house band performing with Al and Shari and Marcus and Mike and Carl.... and I could have missed somebody.....

For those of you around on Monday, Memorial Day, we will be open from 8- 11 AM for coffee and bakery.

Heads up for next week:  Alison Scott will be here on Friday night and for those of you who fell in love (I think there was even some swooning)  with Jeff Carver ’s new show last time he was here, he’ll be back on Saturday May 31.
