Emily Lynch and Phillip Victory Wedding

Emily Lynch and Phillip Victory Wedding

Dear all,

The river is going down, the crocus are up, I slept with the window open last night, the sun was out yesterday and all is well with the world. Exhale.

This weekend was prom in Delano and several of our staff being of prom age, attended.  I wish I had photos of them all to share.  Watch Facebook and you might be able to catch them.

On the same night, Emily Lynch (many of you remember her from her time here at Three Crows) was married and her wedding was the inaugural event in the Delano Commons.  She and Phil made a handsome pair against the backdrop of the new space.  We wish them well!

The city refurbished the old Excel building last fall located across the river from us and next to the Legion.  It is available for rent and I predict it is going to be a huge asset for our little town. Huge and rustic and very cool.  The Delano Community Market will be opening there on Saturday May 17th.

We have some great music this week.  Tickets are on sale for Chastity Brown in concert on Friday night.  And on Saturday night it’s Tim Mahoney. Not to downplay Thursday night’s Reverb Country Dusters. They are new to us, and we love surprises!

Next week on Tuesday The Wine Club is meeting.  Among the night’s topics is Exploring Spain and aging wines. Everyone is welcome. Call if you can to let us know you’re coming 7 PM $20.  Also next week on Saturday we will have our first ever Comedy Night with Tommy Thompson, $10 cover and you can make a reservation.

Here are the details:

Reverb Country Dusters

7:30 pm no cover

The Reverb Country Dusters combine their love of outlaw country, folk, and rock n’ roll to create a sound uniquely their own in the modern style known as Americana music. Though only a 4 piece, the dusters have at their disposal a variety of string instruments as well as harmonica and piano to find exactly the right sound they need for each song. Having three song writers in the group also allows the band to write well-crafted songs with thoughtful lyrics and three part harmonies adding a new page to American song book.

Friday May 9

Chastity Brown Concert

7:30 pm $20 Call for reservations

Throw all the genres and hyphenates together you want to describe her – gospel, roots & soul, jazz, blues & country – they are all right, and also not enough. Chastity Brown channels songs that are borne deep in the American bone, the hunger, desperation and confidence that runs through our times. Coming from Tennessee to Minnesota, touring the country, she has had half her own lifetime and million lifetimes gone before to concoct her powerful sound.

Tim Mahoney

7:30 pm  $15 cover Call for reservations

To date, Tim Mahoney has sold over 100,000 units of his various releases between a solo career and his part as a member of The Blue Meenies. And he also has the raw talent to win multiple awards year after year. In fact, Mahoney was featured in Rolling Stone Magazine in 2007 for their 40th anniversary issue when he won a Ray-Ban promotion. Then, of course, was his appearance on NBC's new hit reality show The Voice. Mahoney was chosen by Maroon 5 lead singer Adam Levine as one of his 8 team members after hearing Mahoney's stunning rendition of Sam Cooke's "Bring it On Home to Me."

Enjoy the week,

Gina, Al and Marcus, the music guys.
